Clervaux is a main touristic place in the North of Luxembourg. If you are there, it is worth paying a visit to the to the Saint Maurice abbey in which is just a short walk from the city center through the forest.
This impressive building was built in the neo-Romanesque style between 1909 and 1910, and the monks of the Saint Maurus Abbey of Glanfeuil in France settled in it.
The monks pray together seven times a day to the accompaniment of Gregorian chants, and in the crypt there is an interesting photo exhibition about their life and work.
In the abbey gift shop you can buy books and art objects and you can also ask for a guided tour.
